Comment Submit Error
Posted under Development by Yoshi (---.eclipse.net) on Thursday November 16 2000 @ 06:52PM EST

There seems to be an error when submitting comments to stories in the latest unstable version of phpWebLog (11/15/00). When one submits a comment, the form is submitting to stories/ instead of stories.php. I changed line 77 in comments.inc.php to point to stories.php and everything is working fine now. I do not know if this is a recent bug, or something particular to my setup. Did it always submit to a directory called stories instead of the stories.php script?

If and when user accounts are added to PHPWEBLOG, it would be great if a forum script could be integrated as well. [...]

How do I easily correct for the time difference between my server time (which is in US) and my locale time (GMT +6)?
I know how to do this in php, but how to implement that in phpweblog? Where should I make the changes? It would be great if Jason could [...]

Suggestion about comments

Another suggestion:
Maybe there should be an option to not showing all comments at the stories.php. An option where the user could click on a link to expand available comments would be great.

It would be nice with sub-levels under Topics. E.g.:

"Development"

User accounts
Posted under Development by A. Eriksson (---.telia.com) on Friday November 10 2000 @ 05:09AM EST
|
Thank you Jason for your time and efforts! I think the unstable version is working really good now with the latest additions. Now, lets move on to release 0.50 and add user accounts. From my point of view, this feature is the only one phpWebLog is missing compared to other weblogs like GeekLog, ezPublish etc.
With user accounts, it would be possible to let users choose language, templates, block order etc. as a real portal system.
Another suggestion: why not put another block type that lists link categories? Or even better, let users define different block types with out the need to modify the code? Even though the code is very good structured (I'm a newbie to PHP but has modified a quite a lot thanks to Jasons clean code), I think many users would appreciate this feature.
Also: Let's give Jason something nice to christmas! How about a Ferrari? ;-)
