layout issues on the front page
Posted under Development by robin (---.dial.umd.edu) on Friday October 20 2000 @ 07:13PM EDT
Development I can't figure this out... but the layout on stories.php is all kinds of screwball (namely, the page shows up as far too big to fit in your browser, no matter what resolution you're using), while all the other pages show up correctly. I'm using 0.4.1. Anybody [...]

How about blocks that ONLY appear on the front p
Posted under Development by Twyst (---.hs.telusplanet.net) on Thursday October 19 2000 @ 08:12PM EDT
Development Well, it'd be nice to have blocks that only go on the front page, such as the polls, or imported news headlines? Maybe just a field 'frontpage' that is set to 'yes' if it's only on the front page, or 'null' if it's on all pages (like a menu)

    Same [...]

    Same linebreak problem again
Posted under Development by Frank (209.119.80.---) on Thursday October 19 2000 @ 10:02AM EDT
Development So, I just put on 0.4.1 to fix the block caching and now I'm having another line spacing problem. If I enter a line like this:

    foo (cr)
    foo

    foo

    it comes out like this:

    foo foo

    foo

This happens when not using HTML tags in the message.

    Any [...]

    minor bug for empty topics
Posted under Development by Nick (206.41.13.---) on Wednesday October 18 2000 @ 01:45PM EDT
Development Just another minor bug in 0.4.1 which I don't
    believe was active in 0.4.0:

When viewing stories for an empty topic, the
body of the page says "_EMPTYTOPIC" and
not "There are no stories for this topic" as it
    used to...

    Jason, take your time [...]

    TEXT HTML parsing
Posted under Development by jason (---.eyeintegrated.com) on Sunday October 15 2000 @ 02:54PM EDT
Development There is a function written by Greg Billock that parses text to HTML in a way similiar to that of phpWebLog where the admin chooses the parsing level. I am very much considering a switch to use his function, that is included in the Terra Cotta website management system. I've listed the different parsing levels provided with this system, to see what you think of the system in comparison to the existing. [...]

    Line break in comments
Posted under Development by A. Eriksson (---.telia.com) on Saturday October 14 2000 @ 05:07PM EDT
    Development Hi, Jason!

I saw that in comments line breaks are not functioning all ok. That is if I want a extra line between this line

and this line. (Which apperently works in stories)

    How to fix this?

    Suggested Netscape 6 sidebar feature
Posted under Development by james (---.sttls1.wa.home.com) on Saturday October 14 2000 @ 02:51PM EDT
Development I recently downloaded the Netscape 6 preview for
Linux. One of the interesting features is the
sidebar. It's similar to chanels where you can
define summary type content in tabs on the sidebar
    of the browser.

    Suggested Features
Posted under Development by Dylan (202.37.194.---) on Saturday October 14 2000 @ 02:44AM EDT
Development Some features I think would be good:

  • Topic sensitive blocks -- Make it possible to bind boxes to one or more topic area.

  • User preferences -- Using a user registration and tracking system (extension on the basic 'Remember my inform [...]
