  • Story Mailing List -> precedence: junk - General
    Posted by rolf (Monday March 05 2001 @ 11:37AM EST) views: 113
I activated the Story Mailing List feature from the Story Control.

Either phpWebLog or PHP sets the header field 'precedence' to 'junk' for whatever reason. Unfortunately our Mailinglist Server filters mails with this setting and drops the mail.

Any pointer as of how to turn off this header field would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -rolf

In the good tradition of answering my own questions:

Neither phpweblog nor php caused the problem.

The situation was as follows: the stories are mailed to the user-list. The only user subscribed so far to the user-list was the developer-list. The listmanager itself sets the 'precedence: junk' for every outgoing mail. Now the same listserver drops the incoming mail for the developer-list because this header-field was set.
    Doh!

One good section for the 'How to shoot yourself in the foot'-Book

    ciao,

    -rolf
