Well listen, someone has to say it: in just over 14 hours it's going to be exactly two months since Jason made his last entry in the changelog.

Brian, we owe you a debt for keeping up the fixpacks (sorry, old OS/2er) and making the code available for download. I'm just about to untar pre5.

Mocha, if you're out there, please don't take this as a slag or a flame. It isn't intended that way in the least. Really.

But listen gang, this wonderful little blog is dying on the vine. I understand Mocha is busy paying the bills. And who amongst us can blame him? Paying gigs trump open source generosity any day of the week.

However, the point we're at now is that nobody is driving the bus. And the tank is nearing "E".

Jason...buddy...pal...listen, your well endowed blog needs you. The party's over man, you've had your sabbitical. :-) I know there are a few of us out here that are more than willing to assist in any way we can from adding to the wish list to debugging to actually coding. But that can't happen without someone actually driving the bus. We need someone actively in charge of the critter to keep it on track. Two months of aimless drifting isn't a good thing.

I realize you're probably up to your *ss in other things just as Mocha finds himself. But dammit, this thing is good and was really shaping up. And afterall, it's your fault for starting the thing in the first place and doing such a good job up to 0.5. :-)

C'mon man, there will be an immense showing of hands from the volunteers once we get the feeling that there is actually someone driving this thing and that the entire project isn't on autopilot.

P.S. Mocha, I truly meant what I said and I respect you for having offered to take the re-write on. It took guts. And probably a whole lot more time than anyone would have anticipated. But we've all got painted into that corner once or twice and for the good of the entire project I think we need to convince Jason to jump back into the changelog.

Thank you for expressing your concern, and I couldn't agree with you more. My intent at this point is exactly the same. I'm waiting for Mocha to get to a point of release so that I can look into integrating Brian's changes/fixes into it. At that point, we'll all have a common source tree so that development can continue. This may be a can of worms since I haven't seen any of Mocha's code, and I'm assuming that I will be able to understand it and be comfortable enough with it to jump back in once it is released.

The other option at this point is to simply take Brian's code, and go from there. My hands are sort of tied as I wait for Mocha, but sometimes good things are worth the wait. I agree two months is a bit of a wait however.

It's game plan time. I'll get another heads up from Mocha once more before deciding which route to take. Brian has really been a project-saver here, and I can't thank him enough for his great work.

Ditto on Brians contributions! He's been a big help to me as I brought MoonGroup.com forward...

Just a FYI... The CVS on SourceForge is up to date with the latest "pre" release (phpweblog_current). The ability to browse the CVS online is a good feature if you want to see the differences between versions of a file.

P.S. Thanks for the compliments. I'm willing to help out this project in any way that I can.
