  • Different contrib.php files? - General
Posted by Hilmar Jan Hansen (Monday November 05 2001 @ 06:57PM EST) views: 123
On a pwl homepage I’m planning, I would like to let users write to different topics. It means that user-1 can write to topic-1 and user-2 to topic-2.

In stead of letting each users select a topic in the pull-down menu, they could have their own contrib.php file with protection, so only the topics writer could access his or her’s own topic.

Could it be possible to fix/hack the contrib.php files, so in stead of the pull-down menu the user-1 only could choose topic-1 in contrib1.php and the user2 could only choose topic-2 in his contrib2.php???

When there still is missing a really user system in pwl to allow users access to different areas on the homepage, this could be a (primitive) solution? Or couldn’t it???

P.S. And why don’t you give the picture upload function as a standard possibility in contrib.php, as seen here? That would be great!!!

I am working on a "real user system" for pwl that will give you up to 32 levels/groups of access-rights. Will that be enough for you, or do you plan to have A LOT of Topics?

Definately! That should do it! You are more than welcome to contact me, if you finish that work.

It would be nice if your user system could be used on both version 0.5.2 and 0.5.3, but I would be satisfied with almost anything.

By the way: Could such a user system make it possible to give someone rights to write and delete their own stories and do polls? If you understand me?
