    Block placement
    Posted by C. Elliott (Friday December 14 2001 @ 01:52AM EST) views: 354 [ General ]
I've sort of gotten persuaded into designing custom PHPweblog templates for friends' sites. (Everyone started using PHPweblog at the same time and it was kind of boring staring at endless seas of Ananda.) But the one thing I really want to be able to control that I haven't figured out is topic block placement. I'd like to be able to put the blocks in a row instead of just a column, like at the bottom or top of a page. Or even in two side by side columns making a square of "blocks."

I'm not big on reinventing the wheel, so is anyone already doing this? I searched and found a mod/hack for three columns but don't think that's what I'm wanting. I'm assuming that since the weblog layout is pretty much a big table I could just put the blocks in a "tr" instead of "td" but it's finding the right place that has me a little stumped. Especially since i don't want to completely negate the convenience of the admin panel.

Here's an example of an older site: DonnieWebb.org

    Thanks, C
