Password troubleshooting steps?
- General Posted by Jonathan Ah Kit (Monday April 08 2002 @ 01:52AM EDT) views: 297 |
Hi.
It seems my weblog has unfortunately decided to âforgetâ both my setup and admin passwords, after a few days of usage. Itâs also lost my own user password; all three donât work, and Iâm sure there arenât any other users as of yet.
Iâm sure I have remembered my password right (I wrote it down, tsk, tsk) and Iâm suspecting the password list got fried. According to me re-running the setup script, it appears to be connecting to the database. Iâm relatively new to MySQL and PHP, if that helps.
Any ideas people would have would be appreciated. (I have a funny feeling itâs something small Iâve missed!)
Thanks!

Edit table t_users in your weblog database. Find the row containing your admin user. Edit that row & set the password field to 5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99
This should reset the password to password. Then login & change the password. If you have no utils to edit your database, go to http://phpwizard.net/projects/phpMyAdmin/.
