  • Summery with unique picture
Posted under Development by Jesper Mohr on Friday April 27 2001 @ 06:19PM EDT
Development I have been thinking about expanding the stories table with a summery picture.
    (See http://www.hardwaretidende.dk for illustration).

To add pictures I estimate that the following function has to be written:

    Picture upload from a browser.
The file needs to get a unique name, probably based on the id of the story.
Thumbnail gallery of all pictures, so pictures can be found fast and reused.

It shouldn’t difficult to write but has anybody worked of such a feature or do I have to start from scratch?

I made something like that on my site (http://www.borisnew.org)
but in a different way: I add a field to T_stories and in stories, I change a var $image which is called by templates.
Then you can use any image you want.
The only problem is that I don't change submit.php.(I update this field with phpmy admin)
